There are several different shopping portal bonuses that are going on right now. If you’re not familiar with online shopping portals, they can be a great way to earn bonus miles

The basic idea is that before you make your online purchase, you go through the shopping portal of the particular airline / hotel. Most of the online shopping portals are run by the same company (Cartera), so it’s not surprising that there are so many similar promotions going on
Currently, there are 5 shopping portal bonuses that end various dates this week that can give you up to 19,500 bonus miles (in addition to the miles you’d get from your credit card spending). Here’s a recap
United Mileage Plus shopping portal bonus
The United Shopping portal has a bonus of up to 6,000 bonus miles
- 500 bonus miles if you spend $150
- 1500 bonus miles if you spend $350
- 3000 bonus miles if you spend $650
- 6000 bonus miles if you spend $1250
The promotion runs through the end of the day on November 24th (Tuesday)
Southwest Rapid Rewards shopping portal bonus
The bonus amount for the Southwest Rapid Rewards portal looks like this:
- 500 bonus points if you spend $150
- 2000 bonus points if you spend $550
- 5500 bonus points if you spend $1500
The Southwest bonus runs through November 26th (Thursday)
Delta Skymiles and Alaska MileagePlan shopping portal bonus
Delta and Alaska are running nearly identical shopping portal bonuses
That’s the picture from the Delta bonus, but Alaska’s is similar
- 250 bonus miles if you spend $75 (Delta) or spend $100 (Alaska)
- 1500 bonus miles if you spend $500
The Delta shopping portal bonus runs through November 23rd (Monday) and Alaska’s bonus ends November 20th (Friday)
American AAdvantage Shopping Portal bonus
American’s shopping portal bonus is as follows
- 450 bonus miles for spending $150
- 2000 bonus miles for spending $550
- 5000 bonus miles for spending $1200
American’s shopping portal bonus runs through the end of November 26th (Thursday)
Rounding up
Here’s a recap of when each deal ends
- Alaska – November 20th (Friday)
- Delta – November 23rd (Monday)
- United – November 24th (Tuesday)
- Southwest and American – November 26th (Thursday)
So, if you took advantage of all five of these offers, you’d earn 19,500 bonus miles after spending $4,950. If you only have a smaller amount of money to spend, you’ll want to look at each shopping portal bonus to see which one works best for you, depending on which miles you value most and how much you have to spend.

It’s on there – I grouped it in with the Delta one since they’re so similar
I must be missing something. What’s all the “fuss” and “excitement” about these boring offers for spending (on real stuff, not ms) to get a modest boost in miles earning rates? How might this work from a “pure” ms angle? Can you actually buy gift and debit cards via these portals?
Will – you can buy anything they have for sale on their websites, though as you point out, many stores don’t sell Visa / MC gift cards (or they come with shipping fees). Your better MS angle is either product reselling or gift card reselling
