I got a spending offer in my email this afternoon that may be of some interest to folks.  It says that it is specific to my account, but it’s not clear how many people it was sent to or if it might work for others with the Chase IHG card

From 10/1/16-12/31/16, use your IHG® Rewards Club Credit Card, and earn an additional 1 point per $1 spent on each single purchase of $1,000 or more — earn up to 8,000 bonus points!

So it’s only for large purchases (over $1000), and you’re only getting 1 additional point.  Not the greatest promotion, but might be worth doing if you’re looking to build up your IHG point balances.  As a reminder, you get 5 points / $1 on IHG spend, 2 points / $1 at gas stations, grocery stores and restaurants and 1 point / $1 on everything else.

I don’t think the IHG card is generally a great one to put everyday spend on, but it IS one of the 4 cards I will pay the annual fee on.
