Despite the rash of posts from around the travel blogosphere mentioning that the 50,000 mile offer for the Chase United MileagePlus credit card would be ending September 2nd, it is in fact now September 3 and there are still open offers for this card!

I don’t fault people for promoting their specific affiliate signup links, although I do think that there are some people who really write “filler” posts just to promote links.

Generally though I think most travel bloggers are good people and while there probably are a few people who knowingly promote “worse” offers, I think most people really are trying to help people.  Perhaps I’m just naive…

There is the concept too that most bloggers only know for sure about the “official” offers.  So in that case it wasn’t wrong to say that a

I like the system that the Frequent Miler has – he has a list of all known credit card offers, including those that are better than his particular affiliate links, and he is pretty diligent about updating them when he gets information about new offers.  As a side note, that page is one of the best resources out there when trying to plan a new churn.

So what’s out there for the United card?

It looks like the “public” offer for United is back down to 30K, but if you go to Frequent Miler’s list of credit card offers, there is still a 50K offer out there.

It does still have the extra 5,000 miles for adding an authorized user, but it does look like the offer that also has a $50 statement credit is not active (at least I couldn’t find it, even after looking through the FlyerTalk thread).  I did sign up for it a few days ago as part of my August credit card churn.

Here’s the link I found that still has the 50,000 United miles as well as the 5,000 for adding an authorized user.

Did you get one, or are you planning on getting one now?
