target-red-card-redbird-credit-card-loads-logoFor a few great months earlier this year, the Target Red Card (Redbird) was a must have tool for manufactured spending.  For awhile, you could load up to $5000 per person per card directly from a credit card.

It was so amazing that because the Target Red Card was only available in certain markets (I had to drive to Indianapolis to get mine), a whole new cottage industry sprung up of people that lived where Redbird was available buying them and selling them on eBay.

Direct credit card loads ended back in May (READ: Target Red Card / Redbird credit card loads – what we know).  For awhile, you could still load DEBIT cards (including prepaid debit cards), but that too ended back in October

Free drink for Target Red Card holders

From Totally Target, Target Red Card holders are eligible for a free drink from now through Christmas Eve

You can get a smoothie, free small ICEE or soda, one drink per REDcard holder per trip from now through December 24th.  I have read reports that it doesn’t have to be an ACTIVE card, so if like me, you closed your account when debit card loads stopped working but haven’t destroyed the card yet, pull it out of the sock drawer next time you head by Target!
