(8/12 – reposting this as the last day to register for this deal is Monday Aug 14)
Flying these days are not easy, and if you have airline elite status, your journey might be a bit more enjoyable, with early boarding, free luggage, priority seating, free drinks etc. So over the years, I pay close attention to any airline status match offers. This weekend, JetBlue announced a generous status match offer to their Mosaic status – you can keep the status through end of 2017, or take a challenge to keep the status through the end of 2018! Details of the offer can be found here. If interested, you must register before August 14, 2017.
JetBlue Mosaic Status
The TrueBlue Mosaic is JetBlue’s only elite status. It is normally earned by either flying 30 segments plus 12,000 base flight points or earning 15,000 base flight points within a calendar year. Benefit of Mosaic status include two free checked bags, waived change or cancellation fees (including those on Mosaic member’s itinerary), expedited security line, early boarding, free alcoholic drinks, bonus points and more. Unfortunately, JetBlue does not upgrade Mosaic members to its popular MINT class of service. If you want to fly MINT, you will have to pay.
Status Match to JetBlue Mosaic through 2017
You must be a TrueBlue member to participate in this offer. Click here to join TrueBlue for free. If you have any airline elite status listed below, your will be granted Mosaic status through the end of 2017.
- Virgin America®: Elevate® Silver, Elevate® Gold
- Alaska Airlines®: Mileage Plan™; MVP® Gold or MVP® Gold 75k
- American Airlines®: AAdvantage Platinum®, AAdvantage Platinum Pro®, AAdvantage Executive Platinum®
- Delta®: SkyMiles Medallion® Silver, Gold, Platinum or Diamond
- Southwest Airlines®: Rapid Rewards® A-List Preferred or Companion Pass
- United®: MileagePlus® Premier® Silver, Gold, Platinum or Premier1K®
All you need to do is to fill out the form here and upload a copy of your current statement or elite credential card. Your request will take about two weeks to process.
Mosaic Challenge to extend status through 2018
By signing up the status match, you will be automatically registered into the Mosaic Challenge – by earning 3,750 base flight TrueBlue points within the first 90 days of status match, you can earn Mosaic membership through 2018! As a reminder, you earn 3 base flight points for every dollar you spend on JetBlue-operated flights. So the challenge means you need to spend $1,250 on JetBlue flights within the first 90 days of enrolling in this promotion.
If you don’t currently have status with any other airline, you can sign up for the status challenge but you must register before August 14, 2017.
My plan for the Mosaic Status
Just last month, American Airlines offered free AAdvantage Gold status to my college-bound 17-year-old daughter. I used that to sign her up for Delta’s status challenge and got her 3-month Silver Medallion status which was approved early this week. Her new Delta status came just in time for her journey this weekend for Alabama – free luggage for two people and free upgrade to Comfort+ seats!
I signed up for the Mosaic Status match for myself and my daughter. But we don’t have any JetBlue flights booked for the next 90 days. So we won’t be able to meet the status challenge. Since the free TrueBlue Mosaic status is good through the end of 2017, we will earn 3 bonus points on the MINT flight we booked for the end of December from Fort Lauderdale to San Francisco! And later in the year, I will use the soon expiring Mosaic status to hopefully status match to another program. 🙂
