A few weeks ago, I wrote about 5 temporarily increased credit card offers.  Since those offers are set to expire on July 6th (Wednesday), I thought I’d Signing up for new credit cards can be a great way to get a bunch of miles.  But please before you do so, make sure you know what you’re doing and don’t just sign up for a new credit card because some guy on the Internet said so!  If you’ve got questions, I’m always happy to give away my 2 cents.  2 of the cards I mentioned there were the Delta American Express Gold card and Platinum card.  There’s an even better offer available on those cards so I thought I’d compare the 2 cards, in addition to highlighting 2 other Delta Amex cards that have increased signup bonuses

Delta American Express Platinum Card

The offer for the Delta American Express Platinum card is up to 60,000 Delta Skymiles (affiliate link) after spending $2000 in the first 3 months of having the card

In addition to the 60,000 Skymiles, you get 10,000 MQMs to help you qualify for elite status AND a $100 statement credit.  Your first bag is checked for free.  There is an annual fee of $195 which is NOT waived the first year (though of course the statement credit helps offset some of that)

American Express Delta Gold Card

The offer we talked about last week on the Delta American Express Gold Card is for 50,000 Skymiles and a $50 statement credit after spending $2,000 in the first 3 months of having the card.  The annual fee is $95 and IS waived the first year.

This offer is still available, but there are reports that there is a slightly better offer available, with a $100 statement credit instead of $50.  To get this offer, go out to Delta.com and start to make a flight booking.  Once you get to the confirmation page (you don’t have to actually complete the booking), you’ll see an ad that looks like this at the bottom of your screen

There are also similarly increased offers for Delta Amex BUSINESS cards (50,000 for the Gold Business card and 60,000 for the Platinum Business Card)

(SEE ALSO: Business credit cards even if you don’t (really) have a business)

Between those 4 offers, you can get 220,000 Delta Skymiles (plus the Skymiles for meeting the minimum spend).  That could be a pretty good start to building up a balance if you’re thinking about leaving American Airlines after the recent AAdvantage devaluation
