You may have noticed a few new bylines on some of the recent articles here at Points With a Crew.  In addition to my 10 year old daughter, who wrote a post (for homework!) on 4 mistakes my Dad made in New York City, we have brought on 3 new contributors to PWaC – Sam, Sharon and Ian.

The three of them will be primarily focus on Deals and Travel News, but probably sprinkling in some trip reports and other posts as well.  Don’t worry, I (Dan) am still here, and I will be continuing to post on my regular cadence as well.  You can see the author’s byline at the beginning of each post – posts written by Dan Miller are written by… well… me, and other authors will be similarly attributed.

Hopefully it won’t be too confusing 🙂

Meet the new PWaC contributors

  • Sam Doyon – By day, Sam is the Operations Manager for a small nonprofit in New York City that teaches the academic curriculum through the arts. He got into the points and miles game in 2014 when he first found Reddit and signed up for the US Airways Dividend Miles credit card. Sam also writes on the blog A Point Earned.  As a New Yorker (though originally from New Hampshire), Sam spends a lot of time on Amtrak, and you’ll soon see how much he loves it. When not traveling, writing about traveling, or thinking about traveling, you can find him reading or hanging out with his partner, Nick, and his cat, Percy.
  • Sharon Peterson – Born and raised in Southern China, Sharon has been living in the San Francisco Bay Area since 1991. She has been married for 18 years and has three beautiful teenage daughters. I often joke that raising 3 kids is harder than my full-time job. I am an accountant by trade, but after work I am just like any other mom busy shuttling kids between after-school activities and various appointments. In early 2012 in search of ways to redeem my big chunk of AA miles for a trip to China on Cathay Pacific’s premium class, she discovered this whole new world of “travel hacking”, and oh was she hooked! Besides being obsessed with travel planning and finding a good deal, she loves photography, Broadway musicals, ballet performance, and of course good food!
  • Ian Snyder got into the travel hacking world about 5 years ago, starting with his honeymoon. Using credit card bonuses, he and his wife enjoyed a two and a half week adventure in the Rockies, New York City, and finally New Orleans before returning home to far northern California. From that moment, he has been hooked to the miles and points world. Ian has a passion for maximizing point redemptions, and loves to share his knowledge with others – he also writes on his own blog at Points, Miles and Life. He has recently gotten into gift card reselling as a way to boost his points balances more quickly. Ian and his wife also hope to start their own crew in 2017, as they are currently waiting for an adoption referral for two children from Costa Rica

Please join me in welcoming Sam, Sharon and Ian as PWaC contributors!
