Barclaycard has had a long-running bonus offer for their AAdvantage Aviator Red card that offers 60,000 miles after your first purchase and payment of the $95 annual fee. Going with a travel blogging cliché, this could be as little as a $0.79 pack of gum. This is quite the haul of miles for $95 and change.

Barclaycard introduces an AA business credit card

Now there is a similar offer out for Barclcaycard’s brand new AAdvantage Aviator Business Mastercard! We do not receive a commission if you’re approved for this card through this offer.  Like the personal Aviator Red, the card bonus of 40,000 miles is awarded after the first purchase. The annual fee is the same at $95. Sure, it’s fewer miles, but considering that you should be getting roughly a cent and a half out of your AA miles, the bonus is worth ~$600.

Here are some of the features of the card:

  • 2x miles on American Airlines purchases
  • 2x miles at office supply, telecom, and car rental merchants
  • 5% anniversary mileage bonus on the total number of miles you earn each year
  • First checked bag free
  • A $99 companion certificate after $30,000 in purchases

Even though 5% bonus is rather meager, the annual bonus is a neat feature. You would effectively earn 2.1 miles on the 2x categories, which is decent.

The companion certificate is a neat benefit. You’ll pay $99 + taxes (roughly $130 total) to fly a companion on your same paid itinerary. However, it’s a little more restrictive than the similar Alaska certificate as you are limited to the 48 contiguous states rather than the whole network.

Conclusion

If you’re in the market for another business credit card, this may be a great option!
