I got an email today about a new way to spend your Hyatt points.  In conjunction with IfOnly.com, you can now spend your Hyatt points on experience and other things.  This seems similar to some of the SPG Moments that we have written about before

How to use Hyatt points with IfOnly

This promotion is billed as a limited-time only experience – you can use your World of Hyatt points at IfOnly until January 31st, 2018.  To view the

One example would be a 30 second personalized message from Joe Montana, with a pricetag of 500,000 Hyatt points (or $4000)

That’s a lot of moolah!

Is this a good deal?

One thing that is different about this Hyatt experiences is that the valuations are listed in both cash and World of Hyatt points.  That shows that they are valuing the Hyatt points at 0.8 cents / point.

That is quite a bit lower than I normally would value Hyatt points.  Here’s an example from a few years ago at our stay at the Hyatt House San Juan.

Our 8000 point stay had a cash value of $275 (plus tax), meaning our Hyatt points were worth around 3.5 cents per point.  So if you or someone you love really has your eye on a rinkside visit with Brian Boitano or tennis and golf with Mardy Fish or a balloon expedition over Mt. Everest, I’d recommend paying the cash unless you have a LOT of Hyatt points!

What about you?  Any interest in any of these experiences?
