Last October WOW Airlines, a low-cost carrier based in Reykavik, Iceland, offered a promotional deal with $99 airfares from Boston and Baltimore to Keflavik Airport in Reykjavik, Iceland.

They either didn’t get enough or are looking to capitalize some more, but they are back at it again!

It’s $99 (on select dates) from Boston and Baltimore / Washington DC (BWI) to Reykjavik.  They also continue on to London and Copenhagen for around ~$200 / person.

Dates are filling up fast – at the time of this writing there were still a few dates left at $99 so check quickly.  If you missed out this time, check out my post on 5 steps to get you ready for the next mistake fare sale. This isn’t a mistake fare per se, but the same rules apply – you’ll need to plan your schedule and book quickly to get the lowest fares.

Frequent Miler pointed out that you can also search for availability on Google Flights (and the interface is a lot better).  Here’s an example search from Baltimore to Reykjavik in September / October.  You can click that link and then adjust your origin, destination, or time to find one that works for you

The fares that show up as $110 in Google Flights DO price out at $99 on WOW’s website – so you can see that there are still a few dates there with really cheap fares.

Keep in mind that WOW is a low-cost carrier, so you’re going to likely pay for things like luggage (even a carryon costs $29 if it’s more than 5kg), seat selection and other things.  So your $99 fare isn’t going to ACTUALLY be $99.  Return flights leaving Iceland are slightly more expensive, so one option I was thinking about was using miles to return back to the US.

What do you think?  Have you gotten in any of these ultra-cheap fares to
