This deal has been around for awhile, but I wanted to bring it up again, as it runs through July 31st, so if you haven’t taken advantage of the deal, you have about 10 days left.

Bank of America Alaska Airlines checking account offers

You can get 25,000 Alaska Airlines miles if you sign up for a new Bank of America checking account by July 31st.  You then need to set up and receive two direct deposits of $2,000 or more each within 90 days of opening your account.

It’s my understanding that this does not have to be 2 separate deposits – the same direct deposit (so like a monthly or bi-weekly paycheck) could be done twice.

Carolyn and I just both signed up for this last week and are hoping to get the bonus within 90 days.

What to do with Alaska Airlines miles?

I used to think it was not worth collecting Alaska Airlines miles, since, living in Cincinnati, I am in the Alaska Airlines “dead zone” (although they are working on it with 3 recent non-stop additions)

But then I learned about their extensive network of Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan partners.  They partner with American and Delta airlines here domestically, but also Emirates, Cathay Pacific, Air France and more.

It’s only 90,000 Alaska miles to fly Emirates Airlines first class, now that Alaska has re-added the ability to search for Emirates on their award calendar.  Signup for this checking account, and one of the Alaska Airlines credit cards (a money maker!) and you’re more than halfway there!

Reminder -the link is http://www.bankofamerica.com/alaskaoffer (public link) and you have until JULY 31st to take advantage of this checking offer – it’s one of the best checking account offers I’ve seen recently.
