The new Point Breaks hotel list is out and bookable. You can see our map that with the most current properties here. I gave it a quick review, like I often do, and although I don’t think I will be booking anything this go around (nothing fits our travel plans), here are 7 hotels that stood out to me:
Intercontinental Buenos Aires
Any Intercontinental on the list will likely be a very good deal, although they would have been much better at 5,000 points and not 15,000. the Intercontinental Buenos Aires is at the top of my list of the three IC hotels on the current list. If only they had waited until next spring when I am considering visiting!
Holiday Inn Paris – Montmartre
I expect this one to go fast. While not as easily accessible as other hotels in Paris in terms of transit, the Holiday Inn Paris – Montmartre is in a great neighborhood. I considered it for our trip in June, but ended up going with the Crowne Plaza Paris Republique due to its convenient metro access.
Hotel Indigo San Antonio Riverwalk
My daughter and I just visited San Antonio the weekend before last and had a great time with friends there (and she experienced flying first class for the first time!). We spent most of our time in the ‘burbs hanging out, but we did venture to the Riverwalk for an evening. The Hotel Indigo on Point Breaks might be a great way to enjoy a weekend in this Texas City.
Holiday Inn Warsaw City Centre
Any city centre hotel is a great option, although Poland in general tends to be inexpensive. Still, for 10,000 points, I’d consider booking a points stay at the Holiday Inn Warsaw City Centre.
Holiday Inn Resort Dead Sea
Have a hankering to visit Jordan? The Holiday Inn Resort Dead Sea might be for you, then. If you jump soon, you might be able to snag this for a mere 15,000 points per night.
Holiday Inn Montreal Centre-ville Ouest
My wife and I visited Montreal and Quebec City in winter 2016 and it is still one of our favorite trips that we’ve ever taken. The Holiday Inn in the City Center is in a good location for exploring this eclectic Canadian city, and with rates of $180+ before taxes, award nights at 15,000 points are a great deal! Consider taking Amtrak Adirondack line to NYC if you want to visit a second city.
Intercontinental Doha
Like I said before, any Intercontinental on the list is worth a look. This one is also 15,000 points. I’m not as interested in visiting Doha as I am in visiting Dubai, but I might be able to be convinced otherwise.
Conclusion
Sadly, none of the 5,000 point properties stood out to me, which figures, given the general devaluation Point Breaks has suffered (SEE: 5 takeaways after staying at 30 different IHG hotels).
While at time of writing all these appeared bookable from the list, I expect some to go fast, and they may disappear before you even get a chance to read this! Good luck!
