Transfer to British Airways to fly Alaska to Hawaii or Mexico

We wrote about how to use Avios to your advantage for a family trip. 100,000 points is enough to take a family of four to Hawaii this summer and back! There are up to 7 Award Seats for the Whole Family to Hawaii this Summer that you can book through British Airways.

Transfer to Korean Air and fly Delta to Hawaii or Mexico.

You can book Delta awards online with Korean Air for 25,000 miles round trip to Hawaii or Mexico. There are up to 9 Delta award seats to Hawaii this summer. 100,000 points is enough for a family of four!

Transfer to Flying Blue for awards to Europe

Each month Flying Blue publishes different promotions for award travel with discounts range from 25% to 50%. January has some nice promotions from the Americas to Europe. Economy class is as low as 18,750 miles one-way, instead of the usual price of 25,000 miles. 100,000 points is more than enough for four one-way tickets to Europe for a family of four!

Transfer to United Airlines for domestic travel including Canada!

If you are a United flyer, you can transfer to United. 100,000 points is enough for four roundtrip domestic flights for a family of four! So take your family to DisneyWorld, or Grand Canyon, or the Canadian Rockies!

Transfer to Southwest Airlines

Even though Southwest gutted a popular way of earning the Companion Pass on the first day of the New Year, there are still 3 ways that you can earn Companion Pass in 2017 without flying.  Southwest periodically runs fare sales, like the New Year Sale started yesterday,. If you find a lower fare during the sale, you can simply cancel in one simple step and rebook without penalty.

I always use points to book Southwest flights. If I have to cancel or change, not only the points go straight back to my account, the fees are also refunded to my credit card. I won’t be stuck with a travel voucher for future travel.

Transfer to Singapore Airlines

Singapore Airlines offer 15% discount to members booking online. You can fly nonstop in coach

  • San Francisco to Hong Kong for 25,500 miles one-way;
  • San Francisco to Singapore for 29,750 miles one-way;
  • Los Angeles to Tokyo from  for 27,625 miles one-way
  • New York to Frankfurt Germany for 17,000 miles one-way;

Or  you can also fly United Airlines [SEE ALSO: 4 sweet spots in Singapore Airlines Award Chart.]

  • business class within the U.S. or Canada for 20,000 one-way;
  • to Hawaii in coach for 17,500 miles one-way;

Transfer to Hyatt for hotel stay

You don’t usually get much value by transferring to IHG, Marriott and Ritz Carlton, because these three hotel programs require much higher amount of points per night than Hyatt.

You can redeem points for free stay, or you can stretch your points further by paying with points and cash. Hyatt Category 1 hotel requires only 4,000 points for a free night, and Category 2 hotels requires 8,000 points. Many of them are Hyatt Place that provides free breakfast.  Last year most of my Chase points went to Hyatt for my family’s hotel stays and we loved it!

Go ahead, apply for the card before it disappears. You can easily use the 100,000 sign-up bonus points to take your family on a free trip!
