Last night, the blogosphere was abuzz with newly found signup bonus offers of up to 100,000 American Express Membership Rewards points.  I first read about it on Frequent Miler, but it was also on Rapid Travel Chai and Travel Codex.

There are 3 offers that are potentially available

american-express-100k-offer

  • The Platinum Card® from American Express with 100,000 Membership Rewards after spending $3,000 in the first 3 months.  The annual fee of $450 is NOT waived the first year
  • The Platinum Business Card® from American Express with 75,000 Membership Rewards after spending $10,000 in the first 3 months
  • The Gold Card® from American Express card with 50,000 Membership Rewards after spending $1,000 in the first 3 months

These offers have been around for awhile, but it appears that recently people have been able to get them again by using private / incognito browsing windows in Chrome.  I get no commission from any of these 3 links, as far as I know.

Remember that as per the current American Express best practices and signup rules, you can only ever get a signup bonus for an American Express personal card ONCE per lifetime.  So if you’re ever going to sign up for one of these cards, you’ll want to do it when it’s at an all time high.  You can also only have 4 Amex credit cards at one time, so if you have more than that, you’ll have to close some.

How to get the American Express 100K offer

To get the offers, open up a private / incognito window (it’s Ctrl-Shift-N in Chrome), and paste in one of these 3 links.

amexgoldcardIt might take a few tries – Miles to Memories reported it took him 10 tries to get the 100K platinum offer.  I was not able to personally get it (though I gave up trying after awhile), though I did have reports from readers who were able to successfully get it.  I was having trouble getting the offers this morning

If you’re not able to get the deals to show up online, there are reports from reddit of people calling in and asking to be matched to the offer.

Were you able to get the deal to happen?
