Several weeks ago I posted about British Airways premium economy fares from the West Coast to Europe, and also how to maximize the miles earned. It now appears that BA is running a sale on PE routes across Europe, according to notiflyr. I searched the list and ranked what I think are the 4 best deals from the U.S. to Europe.

Deal #1: Chicago to Malaga, Spain from $868 in June

Maybe the best deal of the sale is Chicago to this seaside city in the south of Spain. Not only is the town known for its beaches, its amazing history includes Moorish forts, a Renaissance cathedral, and being the birthplace of Pablo Picasso. This price is available for Thanksgiving week, spring break, and even June of next year!

Deal #2: Seattle to Lyon from $943 For the Festival of Light or New Year’s Eve

Seattle usually gets deals to Asia, but this time you can head to the “gastronomy capital of the world”. There are amazing food and wine opportunities unique to this city, but Lyon is more than just foodie heaven. Each December the it hosts the “Festival of Light” (December 5-9), which is now on my bucket list.

Though only on sale from November through March, this deal is available for Thanksgiving and New Years’ Eve as well.

You’ll also fly the transatlantic legs in Virgin Atlantic’s version premium economy, with 20″ wide seats and 38″ between you and the person in front. BA provides the London – Lyon section.

Deal #3: San Francisco to Rome for Christmas or New Year’s from $941

This standard price is not only pretty much wide open from October through March, but there are plenty of seats for Christmas and New Year’s travel. “No price hike for the holidays” is the real deal here. Again, the long haul legs are with Virgin Atlantic’s excellent premium economy, and intra-European flights are with British Airways. That’s a great way to visit the Eternal City this winter or next spring!

Deal #4: San Jose to Barcelona for New Year’s or Spring Break from $808

This is a “take your pick” deal: San Jose has great availability, including departures during the week between Christmas and New Year’s, but the best prices sometimes have long layovers. You can get the best of both worlds, but expect to pay a bit more for New Year’s travel or the shortest trips in mid-March.

How to Book

Finding these prices isn’t too hard. Start with Google Flights and Skyscanner for general searches. If prices come up slightly higher, try booking directly through British Airways’ website. You should find low prices available for much of the next few months.

Good luck and happy flying!
