A flash sale on airfare by JetBlue combined with a simple points trick can get you from Texas to Ireland on the cheap.

JetBlue sale

jetblueDeals we Like was the first poster that I saw that announced a sale from select cities in Texas (Houston, Dallas and Austin) to Boston.  Flights are $54 one way, and availability is pretty open, though probably going to go away pretty quickly.

Here’s an example that I randomly picked from Austin

Okay that gets you from Texas to Boston, but what about Ireland?  This is taking advantage of one of the major sweet spots in the distance-based award chart of British Airways.

british airways award chartBoston to Dublin comes in at a saucy 2993 miles, so you can use only 12,500 Avios points (or transfer from Chase)

bos-dubHow’s that sound for a cheap way to get to Europe?
