Ok, so this one isn’t anything to call home about, but every extra point counts!  If you participate in Copa Airlines’ ConnectMiles program, they’ve recently partnered with Marriott International for a small promotion.  You can earn 2,000 ConnectMiles for qualifying 2 night Marriott stays.

The Catch (I hope you’re planning a beach vacation…)

Here’s the thing…there’s a bunch of fine print.  You’ll earn 2,000 ConnectMiles for stays at a JW Marriott, Renaissance, Marriott Hotels, Autograph Collection, or Marriott Executive Apartments.  Only 500 miles for stays at Courtyard, Fairfield Inn, Residence Inn, or AC Hotels.  This offer is only eligible for stays from May 6th to June 30th, and at participating properties.  Participating properties can be found in the following countries:

  • Aruba
  • Barbados
  • Bolivia
  • Bonaire, Saint Eustatius and Saba
  • Brazil
  • Chile
  • Costa Rica
  • Dominican Republic
  • Ecuador
  • El Salvador
  • Guatemala
  • Guyana
  • Haiti
  • Honduras
  • Jamaica
  • Mexico
  • Panama
  • Peru
  • Puerto Rico
  • Trinidad and Tobago

When you book, I suggest checking availability through the promotion’s landing page, so there are no issues keeping you from your miles.  The Promotional Code for this current offer is MR6.

While it may not work for your travel plans, this list covers most of Copa’s network, so it makes sense for them.  I’ve flown Copa once before, a few years ago, and I found the experience enjoyable.  At the time, I credited my flights to my MileagePlus account.  I have a whopping 6,500 ConnectMiles, entirely from various promotions.  According to Copa Airlines’ award chart, I have enough for a one-way ticket within Panama or within Colombia.  Not sure when I’ll be using those!

ConnectMiles is a relatively new program, spinning off from United’s MileagePlus frequent flyer system in the summer of 2015.  Prior to that time, Copa customers simply earned and redeemed MileagePlus miles on their flights.

I figure even if this only helps one person, it’s worth writing.  Here’s hoping!
