IHG has been on a roll with giving out extra points for bookings their quarter, in addition to their Accelerate program. Now, here’s another way to earn 3,000 – 5,000 more points, courtesy of MileNerd.

As you can see, making a regular booking earns you an additional 3,000 points, while a “Bonus Points Package” rate earns you 5,000 additional points.

How to enroll

You should look in your e-mail for a message from IHG entitled “[Your Name], reservations just got more rewarding.” You’ll need to click through from that e-mail, otherwise, you need to have your personalized code, which is no where to be found.

Ian noted that he registered for the promotion during a stay at an IHG property, and his 3,000 points posted to his account. As usual, YMMV on things like this.

Terms & Conditions

  • Open to legal residents in North, South and Central America, who are eighteen (18) years old or older at the time of registration. Members from Quebec and Brazil are not eligible for this promotion.
  • Must be an IHG® Rewards Club member and must register member number in advance to participate in this promotion.
  • Bonus Points will be awarded after your next qualifying stay booked through the IHG® app from February 27 – April 30, which must be completed on or by April 30, 2018 at any InterContinental®, Kimpton®, Crowne Plaza®, Hotel Indigo®, Holiday Inn®, Holiday Inn Express®, Staybridge Suites®, Candlewood Suites®, EVEN® or Hualuxe® hotel worldwide.
  • Members who book through the IHG app and stay with a Bonus Points Package will be awarded 5,000 bonus points. This is in addition to the points they will earn through the Bonus Points Package itself. Bonus Points Package rates are limited and subject to availability. Members who book through the IHG app and stay any other qualified rate will be awarded 3,000 bonus points.
  • A stay is qualified when paying qualifying rates, which include most business and leisure rates. Only one room per member per stay will be awarded the applicable bonus points. Members are only eligible to be awarded once during the promotion period.
  • Allow 4-6 weeks from stay for bonus points to be posted to your account. This exclusive offer is valid for original recipient only.

Stacking Potential?

This offer seems to be stackable with a few other IHG offers floating around:

  • 10,000 points for staying at a Kimpton hotel before April 30.
  • An AMEX Offer that saves you $60 off of $300 at a Kimpton when you pay with a linked American Express card
  • Your personalized Accelerate offers

If you were able to book a $300 stay at a Kimpton, you could potentially:

  • Save $60 (20%)
  • Earn points for your stay (~4,000 when I made a dummy booking, worth about $22)
  • Earn 13,000 points from these two promotions, which I value at around $71

Let us know if you will be taking advantage of all these IHG offers!
