I love bonus opportunities to earn points and miles. One of the best ways to do that is through shopping portals! On top of regular shopping portal earning rates, many of the sites offer occasional bonuses or promotions to give your miles balance a little extra juice. Recently, most of the major airlines launched a Back to School shopping portal bonus, something they do every year.

As you can see from the screenshot above, in order to max this deal, you’ll need to make 4 separate transactions of at least $75 each to earn the full 2,000 AAdvantage miles. You’ll earn 500 miles after every $75 purchase, up to the maximum of four times. If you do the bare minimum, you’ll spend $300 for 2,000 miles, comparable with other shopping portal promotions. This gives you a rate of over 6 miles/dollar on top of what you’d normally earn!
As I’ve said before, I wouldn’t recommend changing your spending habits in favor of these promotions, but they can definitely be a nice little bonus on top of what you’d normally do.
