Wondering where to find the application link for the Chase credit card that gives 80,000 IHG points? Read on!ihg

Intercontinental Hotels Group (IHG) is an uncommon name, with a lot of brands you’ve probably heard of, like Holiday Inn, Holiday Inn Express, Candlewood Suites, Staybridge Suites, Intercontinental and Crowne Plaza.

Right now, IHG is running a promotion this quarter called “Into the Nights” where everyone that signs up is given a particular offer to earn either 2 free nights or 50,000 points.

The reason that I decided against pursuing this promotion is that I already have a ton of IHG points.  My wife and I both have the Chase IHG Visa card – I got mine back in July, and she got hers as part of last month’s churn.

There is a published offer for 60,000 points but that’s what we call in the bizness the “sucker’s offer”.  I won’t link to it because I don’t want anyone to actually click it, since it’s inferior in every way to the “secret” 80,000 offer

How to get the 80,000 IHG point offer

While there isn’t a landing page that spells out the offer, here is a link to the application.  Nothing on that page confirms the 80,000 points, but many people in this Flyertalk thread, as well as both my wife and I can confirm that we’ve received 80,000 points after meeting the $1,000 spending target in the first 3 months.

Is this card a keeper?

This is one of the few cards I plan on keeping.  The $49 annual fee is waived the first year, but each year on your anniversary you get 1 free night at ANY IHG property worldwide

Bora Bora for $49?  Sign me up!  This was another reason I decided to pass on the Into the Nights promotion – since we will already have 2 free night certificates, I didn’t see the need to spend another $600 or so for 4 more – we just don’t travel that much.  Even though we’ve had some success bartering airline miles for babysitting, we just “used” my parents for a weekend trip to Las Vegas, so it will be awhile before the 2 of us can get away again.  And clearly we’re not taking the KIDS to one of these 5-star hotels!  Even if we weren’t worried they’d fall in the ocean, all they care about are swimming pools and waffle makers – we’ll save them for the budget hotels of the world!
