Recently I had a departing flight from Honolulu airport (HNL) and had the opportunity to visit The Plumeria Lounge, which is the Priority Pass HNL Terminal 1 airport lounge.

The Plumeria Lounge is a Priority Pass lounge, so if you have a Priority Pass membership (likely from a credit card), you’ll have complimentary access to The Plumeria Lounge.

Priority Pass HNL / Honolulu airport lounge location

There are actually 2 different Priority Pass HNL lounges, one in Terminal 1 and one in Terminal 2. Terminal 1 and Terminal 2 at Honolulu Airport (HNL) are connected airside, so you do have the option to visit The Plumeria Lounge regardless of where you depart from, though if you are out of Terminal 2, you might consider the IASS Hawaii Lounge which is a HNL Priority Pass lounge in Terminal 2.

The Plumeria Lounge is located up an escalator near the departure point for the WikiWiki shuttle, which is the bus that runs between the various terminals at HNL.

One interesting thing is that the Priority Pass website says that The Plumeria Lounge is not available for Arrivals. When I read that, my heart sank a bit as we had about a 3.5 hour connection in Honolulu, but we were departing on Mokulele Airways which departs out of the commuter terminal and doesn’t give out boarding passes. But there was no problem with us giving them our arrival boarding passes. We were asked if we were premium cabin passengers or Priority Pass, and when we said Priority Pass, we had to wait for about 3 minutes until they let us into the lounge.

The Plumeria Lounge Priority Pass Honolulu airport lounge seating

There is not a ton of seating options available at The Plumeria Lounge. They actually have some seating areas reserved for premium cabin passengers, and you can’t just sit wherever you want (at least when I was there – it was quite crowded)

Instead, after you check in, one of the workers tells you about the lounge and then directs you to a seat. The agent originally placed my son and I at one seat but when we asked about charging our devices, she quickly moved us to a different table near an outlet.

Honolulu airport lounge review: food

This Honolulu Airport (HNL) lounge food options are not spectacular.

They also have a soda fountain, canned Coke (no Diet Coke, Sprite or anything but Coke) along with 2 different canned beers and some wine

As you might imagine given the speed test above, I had no Internet problems at all.

Priority Pass HNL / Honolulu airport lounge amenities

The Honolulu Airport Plumeria Lounge does not have much in the way of amenities. In addition to the complimentary wifi and seating, the only other thing you can really count as an amenity are the in-club restrooms.

In any case, I rate the The Plumeria Lounge a decent alternative quite good and I would definitely recommend it if you are departing Honolulu Terminal 1 (HNL) with a Priority Pass card.

Have you been to the Priority Pass HNL / The Plumeria Lounge before? What did you think? Leave a note in the comments
