Today we’re giving a Chase Ink Cash review. The Chase Ink card has the same bonus categories as the Chase Ink Plus card, most notably the 5x on office supply stores, cell phone and Internet purchases. This benefit was more useful a few months ago when gift card purchases from Paypal Digital Gifts (among others) counted as “office supplies” and earned 5x Ultimate Rewards, but there are still many

Chase advertises the Chase Ink Cash 50,000 point signup as $500 cash. But you actually just get 50,000 Ultimate Rewards. And while it is true that you can redeem your Ultimate Rewards for 1 cent each, the real benefit of the Chase Ultimate Rewards program is that you can seamlessly combine those with your other Chase Ultimate Rewards earning cards, like the Freedom, Freedom Unlimited, Sapphire Preferred, Sapphire Reserve, etc.

If you also have a premium Chase card, you can then either redeem them for higher cash amounts (1.25 cents or 1.5 cents) through the Ultimate Rewards travel portal, or transfer them to airline and hotel partners like United, Southwest, Hyatt and more. Generally you will get your best value when transferring them to travel partners
Is the Chase Ink cash card under 5/24?
The question of if the Chase Ink Cash card is under 5/24 is…. complicated 🙂 The easy way to answer it is to say that
- NO, it will not count TOWARDS your 5/24 total
- But YES, you do need to be under 5/24 in order to get the Chase Ink card
