(UPDATE September 2017: I have closed down the PWaC Slack Channel. While I know that Facebook and Slack are different platforms and that one does not replace the other, I do have a Facebook group where we talk miles and points, if that interests you.

One of the reasons I started the Points With a Crew blog is to help other people learn the “tricks” of how to get miles and points.  I maintain a free service to help people that are just starting out in the miles and points world.

If you have questions, I’m happy to help via email to dan at pointswithacrew dot com and you can also reach me on Twitter or Facebook

At the Family Travel for Real Life conference, a few of us were talking about how it would be great if we could collaborate more real time about miles and points.  In addition to deal sharing and tricks of the trade, sometimes it’s just fun to talk to other people who understand the difference between an AOR, a 3X, or 5/24.

So I created a Points With a Crew Slack channel.

What is Slack?

If you don’t know what Slack is, you can think of it as a collaborative real-time forum.  We currently have a variety of sub channels, including talk about gift cards, reselling, signing up for credit cards, and others.  We’ve been going for a few month snow and have been having some great conversations. It’s a great place to chat with other miles and points people with questions about signing up for credit cards, award routing, manufactured spending and anything else.  If you were on our Slack channel yesterday, you heard about the leaking of the Chase Sapphire Reserve card before it got shut down, and you might have had a chance to get your card early.

We’ve got about 500 people right now, including famous people like me (lol), The Points Guy contributor Richard Kerr (The Points Jock), Joe from As the Joe Flies, Trevor from Tagging Miles, Howie from Frugal Travel Guy, Harlan from Out and Out, and probably a few others that I’m forgetting, plus a TON of really knowledgeable people that aren’t filthy bloggers :-D.

For now, everything is open to all and there are no “secret” channels, though that may change depending on how big things get.

Currently the Points With a Crew Slack channel is invite only but open to everyone – If you’d like an invite, send me an email at dan at pointswithacrew dot com and I’ll add you, almost certainly within 24 hours (but usually within a few minutes)
