Recently I had the chance to be in the Boston / Cambridge area for an event and stayed 3 nights at the Le Meridien Boston / Cambridge. It was over a weekend (Thursday / Friday / Saturday nights) so I got the chance to give the Le Meridien Boston / Cambridge hotel a review.
Le Meridien Boston / Cambridge location
The Le Meridien Boston / Cambridge is located at 20 Sidney Street, Cambridge Massachusetts 02139. The Le Meridien Boston / Cambridge is located only a block away from Massachusetts Avenue and very close to MIT campus. Considering that I was there for an event on MIT campus (the annual MIT Mystery Hunt), the Le Meridien was very well situated. Our Mystery Hunt team actually ended up renting out one of the meeting rooms at Le Meridien and using that for our hunt headquarters. The meeting rooms and convention space are all on the 3rd floor (there is no 2nd floor), and the guest rooms (194 total) are on floors 4 through 8.
The Le Meridien Boston / Cambridge is about a 7-minute walk from the Central station on the Red Line of the T (Boston’s subway system). I found it very easy to get from Boston’s Logan Airport to this part of Boston (although I screwed it up by getting off the Red Line one stop too soon!)
Le Meridien Boston / Cambridge cost
I booked the Le Meridien Boston / Cambridge as part of a group rate, for $124/ night. After taxes, that came to $718.90 for 5 nights. There is also a $48 / night charge for parking, which I did not pay as I had no car.
The Le Meridien Boston / Cambridge was a Category 6 Marriott Bonvoy hotel back when that was a thing. It had a cost of 40,000 points during off-peak, 50,000 normally, and 60,000 points during a peak night. Looking at the rates for various upcoming nights, that still seems like the range for the Le Meridien Boston / Cambridge points cost. Because the cash rates were so low (in part I’m sure to being affiliated with a group event), that would have only gotten me about 0.25 – 0.3 cents per point, so I booked the cash rate instead.

I actually was in Boston for 4 nights but I had a Hilton weekend night certificate that was expiring, so on Sunday night I moved over to the Hampton Inn Boston Cambridge before flying back home on Monday. I have actually stayed at the Le Meridien Boston / Cambridge several different times.
Le Meridien Boston / Cambridge review – room
The rooms at the Le Meridien Boston / Cambridge were nice and comfortable. I have actually been here twice now and the first time I had a 2 queen bedroom on the 4th floor that overlooked Green Street (roughly northeast)
The second time I stayed at Le Meridien Boston / Cambridge, I was in Room 801, in the NE corner of the hotel in a 1 King bedroom. It had AMAZING views of the parking garage next door (and a bit of Downtown Boston in the distance)
There was also a desk for working, and copious power and USB outlets. I don’t think I used the TV once, but it was there and you did have the option to use any of your own streaming services as well.
The bathroom was somewhat small, but serviceable.
The shower was a bit dated, though the water flow and temperature were good and the nozzle had been updated and provided a good spray, which is really all you can ask for.
The first time I was here, the toiletries were still individual but in 2023, they were now attached into the shower. They came in a variety of scents, including peppermint, cilantro and sage. Personally I do not need my toiletries to spell of herbs and spices but hey, maybe that’s just me 😀
Le Meridien Boston / Cambridge WiFi and amenities
Wifi is complimentary in the lobby and in the guest rooms for Marriott Bonvoy members. There is premium WiFi available for $12.95 / day, which is complimentary for Gold members and above. I am a Gold member, so I chose the premium Internet and it was quite fast
The Le Meridien Cambridge does not have a pool but does have a fairly nice fitness center on the 4th floor, with a variety of machines and free weights.
Le Meridien Boston / Cambridge hotel review – food
Most Marriott members do not receive complimentary breakfast at most Marriott brands (SEE ALSO: 5 Marriott hotels that offer free breakfast (still)), but I sweet-talked my way into breakfast vouchers at check-in by asking nicely. The restaurant is called Amuse and is located on the 1st floor on the far side of the hotel
Here’s a closeup of the menu and hours – it’s open for breakfast until 10 on weekdays and 10:30 on weekends.
The seating area was quite expansive.
The vouchers gave me access to a buffet breakfast, which had the same hot items each day — scrambled eggs, veggies, sausage, bacon, and chocolate chip waffles.
You could also custom order an omelet from the onsite chefs. It was not 100% clear to me whether that was supposed to be included in the buffet breakfast or not but I ordered one and nobody had a problem with it. In addition to the hot items there were a variety of breads, oatmeal, cereals, cold cuts and other cold items located around the restaurant
Amuse also offers lunch, dinner and 24-hour room service but I did not personally take part in any of those
Overall this was a good stay if you need to stay in the MIT / Cambridge area. I would not recommend it on points but if you can pick it up on a cheap cash rate it’s a solid choice

I didn’t feel like the room was overly cramped even with the 2 queen beds. I don’t know for sure if the hotel has suites but I would imagine so
I always enjoy my stay there and I am from Boston. The rooms are beautiful extra clean especially during Covid
