Crazy border crossings

They reached out to my site after reading the article I wrote a few months ago about crazy border crossing stories.  There have been some good ones that I’ve been a part of, often on some of my pursuits to visit all 3,143 counties in the United States.

In the comments of that original post, several of you shared some interesting border crossing stories as well, including one commenter who exasperatedly told a Canadian Border Protection Agent “look we’re just crossing into Canada for a wedding, it’s nothing major, it’s just another state!” (that did not go over well)

Since writing that post, I have also crossed the border from Singapore to Malaysia, and crossed the border from Malaysia to Singapore.  More recently I visited Point Roberts Washington, which is an exclave of the United States that is only accessible by driving from Washington through Canada.  So for the hour or so I spent in Point Roberts, I had to cross the border 4 times!

(SEE ALSO: Point Roberts Washington – it’s harder to get there than you think!)

If you’ve got any other crazy border crossing stories, I’d love to hear them!
