With Citi dropping Hilton as a transfer partner in the next few weeks, I was sort of hoping they’d add something into the mix to replace them. Citi must have been reading my mind, because they’ve just added Avianca LifeMiles as a transfer partner!

a close-up of a websiteAs you can see, the transfer ratio is 1,000:1,000. That means the current signup bonus from the Citi ThankYou Preferred–50,000 points–could net you 50,000 LifeMiles. That’s exactly what I expected, given most airlines, except for jetBlue, transfer at a 1:1 ratio.

What’s great about Avianca LifeMiles is that they do not pass surcharges from other carriers onto passengers, rather, they charge $25 per award ticket booked. They have pretty reasonable partner redemption awards, including some interesting domestic US awards.

It’s great to see Citi investing in ThankYou Point transfer partners. Stay tuned for a round up of some of the best used of Avianca LifeMiles!
