I have been blogging here at Points With a Crew for just over 6 years. And since my very first post (“Another travel blog?”, in January 2014), we have published over 4600 posts about miles, points and travel, a rate of over 2 per day! While we have brought in a few other writers over the years, the majority of the posts have come from me personally, along with most of the behind-the-scenes work of running a site.
PWaC is joining the Soapbox Group
I’m pleased to announce that Points With a Crew has joined the Soapbox Financial Network, a part of The Motley Fool. The Motley Fool’s mission is “To Make the World Smarter, Happier, and Richer,” which goes right along with Points With a Crew’s mission of “helping families (especially larger families) travel for free / cheap using airline miles and hotel and credit card points”.

There are also a few other sites in the process of joining so I anticipate Soapbox will continue to grow.
Why now?
I have had a few opportunities over the years to sell the site but the situation has never been right. In addition to needing it to be a good fit for what’s going on in my life, I wanted to make sure that whoever was buying the site would be a good fit and take good care of my baby! Most of the other people who have been interested in buying the site were just other investors or affiliate marketers. In contrast, I know that being a part of Soapbox and The Motley Fool will leave PWaC readers in good hands.
What will change at PWaC
At this point, nothing will really be changing. Although I’m no longer the owner of the site, Soapbox has kept me on as a consultant, and I will continue to be involved in posting. The sale actually closed earlier this month and you probably haven’t even noticed yet :-). The folks at Soapbox have been very clear that they want me to continue to do what I’m passionate about, and they will help with all the “boring” stuff that I don’t want to do :-D. PWaC will still also be syndicated on BoardingArea, and you’ll still see us on all the same social channels (Facebook, Pinterest, Instagram, Twitter).
What will stay the same
Like I mentioned, things will pretty much stay the same, at least for the foreseeable future. You’ll still see quite a bit of me writing here, and on the Points With a Crew Facebook group. I’m also still always ready to help out anyone who is looking to use miles and points to help their family travel.
I’ve had a great time these past six years and here’s to (at least!) 6 more!
