Good to know:  Generally, these are worth one cent a piece, but if you also have a premium Chase card, like the Sapphire Preferred or the Sapphire Reserve, you can use those points for travel through the Chase Ultimate Rewards Mall for 1.25 cents each with the Sapphire Preferred or 1.5 cents with the Sapphire Reserve.

Good to know:  The Citi Dividend only lets you earn a MAXIMUM of $300 cash back per year, regardless if it’s regular spend or in the bonus Citi Dividend categories. Additionally, this card is no longer available to sign up for.

Discover it

Good to know:  Per the Discover it website, “Discover automatically matches all the cash back you earn dollar for dollar at the end of your first year. Only for new cardmembers.” Basically, if you spend $1,500 at gas stations, local commuter transportation, or wholesale clubs during the first quarter Discover cash back categories, you’ll get $150 back, rather than $75. You’ll get the $75 back during the first quarter, and the second $75 will be applied at the end of your first year as a cardmember.

Conclusion

Make sure to activate those 5% cash back categories–it would be a shame to miss out on all those extra points!
