Alaska Airlines keeps bringing first class deals to/from California. First deals were to Dallas from San Francisco and San Jose and San Diego, then Los Angeles. Now there’s a deal to/from San Diego from St. Louis and Kansas City. The St. Louis deal has the same parameters as the earlier sale: Tuesday, Wednesday, and Saturday travel, in September and October. The Kansas City deal is expanded from fall through to next spring, with most weekdays available.

  • Kansas City from $358
  • St. Louis from $398

Chase UR price with Sapphire Reserve

If you’d rather save the cash and/or you earn a lot of Chase Ultimate Rewards, the deal is just 23,866 UR in the Chase travel portal with the Sapphire Reserve. That’s a pretty great redemption while earning 4,500 Alaska miles.

First class means two free checked bags and, of course, seat selection. According to FT, these flights are operated on Embraer 175s, which is a pretty comfortable domestic first class seat. Especially if you get the “A” side – a single seat that is both “aisle” and “window”.

These deals are bookable directly with Alaska or with online travel agencies. When searching on Google Flights look for “business” class, and on OTAs search for “first” class. This deal is a nice discount from regular pricing (~$550) so take advantage now if these flights work for you.
