Star Alliance member and United Airlines partner SAS has launched a sale to Europe and it looks like a very good one. There are some fantastic deals to be found (probably my favorite is Los Angeles to Dublin for $289 – even good for St. Patrick’s day, with an overnight in Copenhagen).

New York to Dublin for $274 is probably the cheapest price, but the destinations are too many to list or search by hand. Still, a few options in the $270 – $400 range:

  • Copenhagen
  • Oslo
  • Stockholm
  • Dublin
  • Athens
  • Zurich
  • London
  • Paris
  • Berlin
  • Rome

And on, and on…

Search SAS’ site for options, including smaller cities, and you’ll see a huge grid for whichever US city they fly from (New York, Chicago, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Boston, Washington D.C., and Miami).

These are basic economy prices (“SAS Go Light“), but not the worst version of BE in the world. Carry-ons are allowed, meals are free, and seats can be selected from 22 hours before departure. Checked bags are extremely expensive however, so just buy up to SAS Go for ~$28+ each if you absolutely need to check a bag.

The best prices are available from January through May, allowing travel time for skiing, spring break, or European spring festivals. I couldn’t find an end date for buying these discounts, but this isn’t a flash sale so you probably have a couple of days to book. That said, book sooner rather than later to ensure you don’t miss anything; SAS has a 24-hour money back guarantee on flights just in case you change your mind.
