Southwest has a new fall nationwide sale. The sale is available from Southwest’s website, and an email with the subject line “This $59 sale is here to take you away”. Sale prices are good for select days between September 3 and December 18; see “Travel Dates” below for more specifics. With these dates it appears to be an extension of the previous nationwide sale” and the “4th of July sale” that ended on July 4.
While not every route is available, most mainland cities that Southwest serves have at least one deal. I say mainland because, like most SWA sales, only inter-island Hawaiian flights are included, not flights to/from the mainland. Past sales have those flights as low as $29, though this time they are $49. International flights as well as domestic flights (including non-stops) show deals, and the prices can be very good, especially considering Southwest’s “Bags Fly Free” policy. This sale comes along at a perfect time to help you earn Rapid Rewards miles with your Chase Southwest Performance Business card.
Whenever Southwest hosts a sale, make sure you check any existing flights you have already purchased. Southwest has no change fees, and if the sale price is lower you will receive a credit for the difference usable for future SWA fares. Plus, if you are unsure after you buy one off these flights, remember that any fare marketed in the US is free to cancel within 24 hours. But this sale has a short window, and prices are only good until 11:59 M Pacific Time on July 18, so act fast.
