This week is going to be a busy week for deals and sales!  And while the hotel and travel space is not QUITE as “into” Black Friday as some of the other retailers (think your Target / Walmart / Amazon folks), there are a few Black Friday hotel deals.  I have reached out to some of my contacts to see what they might be doing for Black Friday / Cyber Monday, and I will share the Black Friday / Cyber Monday hotel deals as I get them.  Today’s post talks about some of the SPG Black Friday hotel deals and the Marriott Black Friday hotel deals.  (They are one company “ish” now, after all!)

For my complete list of Black Friday / Cyber Monday deals, check out

SPG and Marriott Black Friday hotel deals

Marriott and SPG have a similar promotion going on which starts THURSDAY (Thanksgiving Day), November 23rd.  You can read the full press release of the SPG and Marriott Cyber Monday deals here.  I did not see a time on Thursday when this deal goes live – if you see one, leave a note in the comments

It starts on Thursday November 23rd and you can access more information at

Supposedly, during the Cyber Monday Marriott and SPG sale, select hotels will be as low as $89.  I have to assume these will be on the nicer end of the spectrum since you’re likely to be able to get say, a random Fairfield Inn and Suites for $89 on MOST days 🙂

Other Marriott and SPG information

A few other tidbits about SPG and Marriott that you might be interested in.  Remember, you can transfer your SPG points to Marriott 1:3 and vice versa.  Here are 2 articles talking about when you might want to do one vs. the other

Also for the rest of the NFL season, Marriott is giving every customer an easy 1000 points every Sunday.  The deals go live about 2pm Eastern time and are only good through 8pm on Sunday.  Here’s a link to the latest one to give an idea of what they’re about (it’s expired now).

If you’re one of the people that just gets these posts via email and not on the blog, please do not email me complaining that you get an email on Monday morning with a deal that expired on Sunday.  The only way around that is for YOU to check the blog on the Internet sometime Sunday afternoon!!!

When to get your Marriott and SPG Cyber Monday hotel deals

Remember this Marriott and SPG Black Friday sale goes through November 27th (Cyber Monday) so you have a few days to take advantage of the sale, though I would imagine that like IHG Point Breaks and most of these Cyber Monday hotel sales, there are only a certain number of rooms at the lowest prices, so the “good” hotels will likely sell out quickly

It’s unfortunate that this SPG / Marriott Black Friday / Cyber Monday hotel sale looks like it’s only for cash rates as I know many of us use points as a way to really save on lodging costs.  Still, it’s probably worth a look on Thursday

Are you planning on taking advantage of this Starwood / Marriott  Black Friday / Cyber Monday hotel sale?
