With our trip to Stockholm Sweden coming to an end, we had a 9 a.m. flight back to the United States. While we could have taken some of our tips for getting from Stockholm City center to Arlanda airport, we decided that we would rather not risk fighting rush hour traffic in the morning and that we’d rather stay somewhere closer to the airport. After looking at a couple of different options (including an old airplane converted into a hostel), we decided to use 20,000 Best Western points to stay at the Best Western Arlanda Hotellby (check prices – read TripAdvisor reviews

Best Western Arlanda Hotellby location
The Stockholm Best Western Arlanda Hotellby is located at Bristagatan 22, 195 60 Arlanda-Arlandastad, which will suffice for taxi or Uber if you’re heading that way. If you want to take public transportation, you can take the commuter train #36 to Marsta Station. From Marsta Station, it’s about a 20 minute walk or you can take Bus 571 which will drop you off right in front of the hotel.
Google suggested the walk, and since it was nice out, I thought we would take the walk. Google’s suggested route is in red, from Marsta station at the top to the hotel in the bottom right of the picture
The red route goes through a trail, but as we walked along the Mabyleden road, there was no visible entrance or anything to indicate that this was a public trail (SEE ALSO: Is this a road? Or someone’s driveway). So I figured we would just continue on the road along the path I’ve drawn in green. But that turned out to be up a windy, hilly road with no sidewalks. Not my best choice in hindsight, though it was fun to see the expressions on the check-in agents when I told them how we got to the hotel :-). After a tiring walk, we were quite happy to finally see the hotel off in the distance
Another option would be along the blue path which I believe is another trail. I did see the trailhead at the top of the road near the hotel… if only there had been such a sign down on Mabyleden.
Best Western Arlanda Hotellby rooms
The Best Western Arlanda Hotellby is a combination of a motel with outside entrances and a hotel that has inside entrances.
Our room was in one of the buildings with inside entrances and was pretty standard

The Best Western Arlanda Hotellby does not have a swimming pool, but it does have a fitness center as well as conference rooms. There is also a business center with computers available.
Best Western Arlanda Hotellby airport shuttle
Of course the most important amenity of an airport hotel is the airport shuttle. The Best Western Arlanda Hotellby is right next to another Best Western (Best Western Plus Park Airport hotel), and the 2 Best Western hotels share an airport shuttle. The Best Western Arlanda Hotellby airport shuttle runs every 30 minutes at the top and bottom of the hour. When you check-in, just tell them what time you would like to take the shuttle. Though as you can see, it’s a large bus, so I can’t imagine there would ever be an overcrowding problem
If you’re picking up the Best Western Arlanda Hotellby airport shuttle from Arlanda Airport to the hotel, it picks up at Bus Stop 11 outside Terminals 2 and 4, and outside the Arrivals section of Terminal 5. If you are arriving at Arlanda airport between midnight and 4 a.m. you would need call +46 8 597 897 00 and wait for the shuttle. The Best Western Arlanda Hotellby also claims to be the only Arlanda area hotel that offers long term parking (SEK200 per week)
