The United Polaris Business Class Lounge ORD is a recent addition to the Chicago O’Hare airport and is (one of) United’s answers to the American Express Centurion lounges, which are a step up (several steps up?) from most of the domestic airport lounges available.

The United Polaris Lounge ORD is located in Concourse C, just outside gate C18. If you’re coming to the C Concourse from B Concourse or any other terminals, it will be just to your right as you enter C Concourse.
Who can access the United Polaris Lounge?
The following guests can access the United Polaris Lounge ORD
- United Polaris First Class passengers – at departure, connecting and arrival airports along their eligible same-day routing with 1 guest
- United Polaris Business Class passengers – at departure, connecting and arrival airports along their eligible same-day routing with no guests
- Long-haul international first class passengers flying on a Star Alliance™ member airline – only at the departure airport for their international first class flight with one guest
- Long-haul international business class passengers flying on a Star Alliance™ member airline – only at the departure airport for their international first class flight with no guests
We were flying EVA Air in business class from Chicago to Taipei, so we were able to access the United ORD Polaris Lounge.
The United Polaris lounge ORD is open from 7:15 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., 7 days a week (though on the day we were there they stayed open a little bit later due to some delayed flights)

There are restrooms as well as shower suites and daybeds at the Chicago United Polaris Lounge. Instead of having separate gender-specific restrooms, there are several single-use restrooms down a small hallway off of the lobby
The showers and daybeds are in a separate section with a valet desk
The wifi at the ORD United Polaris Lounge was quite fast

The United Chicago O’Hare Polaris Lounge has a wide variety of hot and cold food on a buffet.
My daughter proclaimed the tiny containers of potato chips “super cute” 🙂

Chicago United Polaris Business Class Lounge Dining Room
Besides the buffet, pictured and described above, the ORD United Polaris Business Class lounge also has a sit-down restaurant area, which is quite rare among airline lounges in the US. The only other airport lounge I’ve ever been in that has sit-down dining is the ridiculous Emirates First Class lounge in Dubai.

It was quite empty when we got there (about 6pm local time), so we sat down to eat.
There are 5 tables in a row (pictured above) as well as a few booths on the other side.
The United Polaris Lounge ORD has 2 different menus, one for breakfast (from 7:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.)
and one for lunch and dinner (from 11:15 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.)
We both had the Fontina meatball for an appetizer, which was quite good
and the Blue Door kitchen burger (burger good, fries not as good)
For dessert, we had the Chocolate Decadence AND the ice cream (choices of vanilla and chocolate), because hey, why not!?!? 😀
Note that the Dining Room closes an hour before the lounge does, so if you’re wanting to try it, make sure and get seated and ordered by 8pm.
If you have access to the United Polaris Lounge ORD, I definitely recommend it over the United Club ORD or any other lounge at Chicago O’Hare

Does Priority Pass members have access to this lounge?
No. My understanding is that access is only for international business class passengers on United or Star Alliance partners.
No – the only Priority Pass lounges in ORD are the Air France ORD Priority Pass lounge and the Swissport ORD Priority Pass lounge (both in Terminal 5)
That internet speed is actually quite a bit slower than I would have expected for their Polaris lounge! Their lounges in other cities have some great speeds in the mid-high 200s for download and upload, even when they are packed!
Daybed for an hour was pure heaven when I had to up my flight into ORD due to weather and have. 5+ Hour layover. Comfy lounger, darkened “room”, eye mask and aromatherapy did the trick.

I am planning to take the same flight(business class as well)! I assume that you need to have your boarding pass to access the lounge and through terminal 1? Is Eva check in counter open @6pm? (Sine their flight is at midnight?)

I’m not sure when their checkin counter opens – we weren’t checking bags. We were connecting in ORD from CVG. So we arrived from CVG-ORD already in the secure zone in Concourse C and went directly to this lounge. We did have to show our EVA business class boarding passes to enter the lounge. After we left the United Polaris ORD lounge (it usually closes at 9 or 10 I think), due to the construction, we had to exit security and take a bus to Terminal 5, where we had to go through security again.
