Recently my son and I were in Morocco and had the opportunity to visit the Priority Pass RAK / Marrakech airport lounge on our way back to the United States.

Priority Pass RAK / Marrakech airport lounge location

There are actually 2 different Priority Pass RAK lounges, both in Terminal 1. There is one for arrivals and one for departures. The departures Pearl Lounge inside Marrakech Airport is located up the escalator right after you clear all of the security and immigration stations.

Follow the signs around the corner to your left and it is about a 2 minute walk. It’s about a 5 to 10 minute walk from most gates. I believe that Terminal 1 and Terminal 2 of the Marrakech airport are connected, but our flight (Royal Air Maroc to Casablanca) left from Terminal 1 so I am not 100% sure on that.

Pearl Lounge Priority Pass Marrakech airport lounge seating

There is a wide variety of seating options available at the Pearl Lounge / Priority Pass Marrakesh Airport.

One thing that I appreciated was that in addition to plenty of seating, they had different configurations available – some for 1, 2 or more passengers, even including a reclining chair if you wanted to take a nap

Most if not all of the seat had power outlets (Moroccan plug style) as well as USB chargers

Marrakech airport lounge review: food

This Marrakech Airport (RAK) lounge had decent availability for food – there were soft drinks available, though this is the first time I can recall seeing Coke products without actual Coke or Diet Coke!

a refrigerator with drinks in it

There were also a few cans of beer behind the bar. There were a few hot options which were better than I see in most US lounges

There was also a section in a glass case that had additional food as well as an attendant – it was not clear to me whether these items cost extra or not.

Priority Pass RAK / Marrakech airport lounge wifi

The Priority Pass RAK wifi in the Pearl Lounge was pretty good, which was a pleasant contrast to the wifi in most of Marrakech!

I had no Internet problems at all

Priority Pass RAK / Marrakesh airport lounge amenities

The Marrakech Airport Pearl Lounge RAK has a variety of amenities, including a children’s play area

a play house in a room

2 different smoking rooms

a glass wall with a bar and a table

(In addition to this small hut by the entrance, there is a larger smoking room to the rear of the lounge

a glass door with a red chair and a black table

A prayer room

a sign on a wall

There is one shower in each bathroom

a shower with a shower head

with a sink and hairdryer

a hair dryer on a wall

and of course, a legit piano in the middle of the lounge!!

a white piano on a shiny floor

I have to say – I have NOT seen that one before inside an airport lounge. As you might expect, I saw nobody actually playing the piano while I was there (I certainly did not feel bold enough), but I did check and there were no signs telling you not to play it and it appeared to be fully working. Maybe they have a pianist during busier times?

In any case, I rate the Priority Pass RAK / Marrakech Pearl lounge quite good and I would definitely recommend it if you are departing Marrakech Airport with a Priority Pass card.

Have you been to the Priority Pass RAK / Marrakech Pearl lounge before? What did you think? Leave a note in the comments
