In early 2026, as part of a staycation, I stayed one night at the Best Western Gateway to the Keys. This Best Western Gateway to the Keys review will give an idea of the different amenities and features of the hotel and hopefully help you decide if you want to stay here if you’re looking for a South Florida hotel.

Best Western Gateway to the Keys location

Best Western Gateway to the Keys cost
We were looking for a cheap South Florida hotel, but didn’t want to stay in the absolute cheapest hotel out there. I used my Citi Strata Elite $300 hotel benefit to book a 2 night stay. The total came out to $307, so I was out of pocket about $7.

Best Western Gateway to the Keys review – room
We booked a “1 queen” room. The bed was actually pretty uncomfortable – I didn’t get a great night’s sleep.

Here is the other side of the room, with a couch and a table.

The sink is out in the main area, along with a microwave.

The bathroom was small but functional. The shower had good temperature and pressure.

Best Western Gateway to the Keys wifi and amenities
Wifi is complimentary in the lobby and in the guest rooms. The Best Western Gateway to the Keys wifi speed was decent, but it occasionally would cut out. It was still usable but not great.

There is a computer and printer out in the lobby (no separate business center)

There is an outdoor pool as well.

You can see that this is a hotel that has the doors to each suite on the outside.

Laundry facilities are available for a cost

Here’s a flyer that they give you when you check in, that shows the hotel layout as well as some information about the hotel.

The Best Western Gateway to the Keys does have complimentary parking, which was plentiful.
Best Western Gateway to the Keys food
Breakfast is complimentary at the Best Western Gateway to the Keys – it’s served in a breakfast area right off the lobby.

There were several hot dishes, which are rotated each day
