Recently I was transiting through Miami and had the opportunity to visit the American Airlines Admirals Club MIA D30. In this Miami / MIA American Airlines Admirals Club Lounge Review, I’ll run through the food, wifi speed, seating and other lounge amenities so you can decide if this is worth a visit on your next trip to Miami.

American Airlines Admirals Club MIA access requirements

To access any American Airlines Admirals Club, you must meet one of three requirements:

  • Be an Admirals Club member
  • Traveling in First or Business on a qualifying same-day international, transcontinental or other domestic flight marketed and operated by American, a oneworld® airline or marketed by Aer Lingus* and operated by American
  • Have American Airlines Platinum or higher status, or Alaska Gold or higher status, and be on a qualifying departing or arriving international flights marketed and operated by American, a oneworld® airline, or marketed by Aer Lingus and operated by American (regardless of cabin).
  • Oneworld Emerald or Sapphire status through an international carrier

In my case, I was using a one-time pass earned with the Citi Strata Elite card (you get 4 per calendar year).

And even though initially I thought that my one-time passes would not be accepted due to the sign above, it turned out not to be a problem at all.

American Airlines Admirals Club Miami Location

The American Airlines Admirals Club MIA D30 location is in Terminal D, near gate D30. There are actually several Admirals Club locations in Miami airport, including another one in Terminal D (near Gate D15). I was told that this D30 location is much bigger / better, which is why I went for this one.

The space is colocated with the MIA Flagship Lounge

When you enter, there are agents on the ground floor who check you in. Once you are checked in, you go upstairs via the stairway or a bank of elevators.

American Airlines Miami Admirals Club airport lounge seating

There are a few seating areas at the American Airlines Admirals Club Miami D30. It’s a fairly sizeable club, though it was fairly crowded.

American Airlines Admirals Club MIA Review: food

The food at the American Airlines Admirals Club Miami is similar to that at any other Admirals Club. They have a variety of small finger foods, soups and desserts, but nothing super substantial.

There was a small bar with a variety of alcoholic drinks available.

They also had a Coca-Cola Freestyle machine, which I always prefer over having to order soft drinks at the bar.

American Airlines Admirals Club Miami wifi

The American Airlines Admirals Club Miami airport lounge wifi speed was decent, though I forgot to get a screenshot of the wifi speed. I didn’t have any trouble accessing the Internet or watching videos or doing anything else online during my time in the Admirals Club.

American Airlines Admirals Club Miami airport lounge amenities

There were a few amenities including a conference center (which you have to reserve), and a kids’ room (pictured below)

a room with chairs and a television

They have restrooms as well as 2 shower suites (which again, you have to reserve)

a hallway with doors and a wood floor

The Bottom Line – American Airlines Admirals Club Miami D30 Lounge Review

If you have access to the American Airlines Miami Admirals Club Lounge D30, you will almost certainly want to spend some time here. The food is okay though not as good as some of the other lounges like Polaris, Capital One or Centurion lounges. The Wifi is solid and it’s definitely a place worth visiting if you have a layover between flights.
