During the last quarter of 2018, Choice Privileges and Aeroplan are running a promotion where you can earn quintuple miles per stay. Yes, quintuple. With a “normal” rate of 250 miles, this works out to 1,250 miles per stay. Given that Aeroplan miles are conservatively valued at 1.5 cents each, this is effectively a return of about $19 per stay. Given that Aeroplan miles can be used for far greater value (SEE: The 4 best uses of Aeroplan miles), you could be looking at a huge return.

Details of the promotion

This promotion is valid for all stays between October 1 and December 31, 2018. A stay (as always) is defined as any number of consecutive nights at the same hotel regardless of the number of check-ins and check-outs. Obviously, to maximize the return, you’ll want to keep your stays to one night. You will also need to provide your Aeroplan number and ensure that earning airline miles is your preference in your profile.

You will not earn bonus points on stay booked through third parties. Points may take 6-8 weeks to post. It took longer than this for some of my “Your Extras” points to post from a few stays this summer, so don’t plan on using these miles anytime soon. Given that Aeroplan’s future is a bit more secure, I would not be worried about not being able to get value out of your miles.

The promotion is not valid for stays in the following countries: Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Iceland, Latvia, Lithuania, Norway, and Sweden.

Don’t overlook the value of Choice points! They can be quite valuable in many instances (SEE: 4 best uses of Choice points).
