In 2025, as part of a trip with my daughter, I stayed one night at the Holiday Inn Express Pittsburgh West – Green Tree. This Holiday Inn Express Pittsburgh West – Green Tree review will give an idea of the different amenities and features of the hotel and hopefully help you decide if you want to stay here if you’re looking for a Pittsburgh hotel.

Holiday Inn Express Pittsburgh West – Green Tree location
The Holiday Inn Express Pittsburgh West – Green Tree is located at 875 Greentree Road Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania 15220. It’s located right off of I-376, a few miles west of Downtown Pittsburgh.

Holiday Inn Express Pittsburgh West – Green Tree cost
We were looking for a cheap Pittsburgh hotel, but didn’t want to stay in the absolute cheapest hotel out there. We had an expiring IHG Category 1-4 certificate which is what we used, although it probably wasn’t the greatest use of one of those certificates. The cash cost for our nights was $112 (plus taxes) and the points cost was 23,000 points per night. Still, this certificate was “use it or lose it”, which is why we decided to use it.

Holiday Inn Express Pittsburgh West – Green Tree review – room
We booked a “2 queen” room. The beds and pillows were comfortable enough.

Here is the other side of the room, with a desk and TV

The bathroom was small but functional. The shower had good temperature and pressure.

Holiday Inn Express Pittsburgh West – Green Tree wifi and amenities
Wifi is complimentary in the lobby and in the guest rooms. The Holiday Inn Express Pittsburgh West – Green Tree wifi speed was decent and I had no issues using it, though I forgot to get a screenshot of the speed.
There is a computer and printer out in the lobby (no separate business center)

There is an indoor pool as well.

There is a small fitness center.

Holiday Inn Express Pittsburgh West hotel review – parking
The Holiday Inn Express Pittsburgh West – Green Tree does have complimentary parking, which was plentiful. One interesting thing was that the address for the hotel did not correspond exactly to where it was located on Greentree road. It wasn’t QUITE as bad as when Google tried to tell me that Holiday Inn Express was inside Walmart, but it took a bit of backtracking to actually get to the hotel. Don’t worry though – I submitted an update to Google Maps, and they updated the location, so you’re welcome 😀
Holiday Inn Express Pittsburgh West food
Breakfast is complimentary at the Holiday Inn Express Pittsburgh West – Green Tree – it’s served in a breakfast area right off the lobby.

There were several hot dishes and a pancake maker.

And of course Holiday Inn Express cinnamon rolls!
The Bottom Line – Holiday Inn Express Pittsburgh West – Green Tree review
If you are looking for a cheap Pittsburgh hotel, I thought that the Holiday Inn Express Pittsburgh West had several things going for it. It was very easy to get to from the highway (or airport), and the price was decent. I think the Holiday Inn Express Pittsburgh West could be a great option if you’re looking for a Pittsburgh hotel.
