Recently I was transiting through Dallas / Fort-Worth International Airport (DFW) and had the opportunity to visit the Dallas Terminal D Plaza Premium Lounge. In this DFW Priority Pass Plaza Premium Dallas Terminal D lounge review, I’ll run through the food, wifi speed, seating and other lounge amenities so you can decide if this is worth a visit on your next trip to Dallas.

Dallas Terminal D Plaza Premium Lounge Location
The Plaza Premium Lounge location is in Terminal D. There is also a Plaza Premium Lounge in Terminal E, but it is VERY small, and on the one time I was there, super crowded. From Terminal D, it is near Gate D16. You’ll go up the escalators to the 2nd level

I did see a sign down at the bottom of the escalator that they were at full capacity. In fact there was a waitlist, but I also wouldn’t be surprised if they just leave that sign down at the bottom of the stairs at all times.

They also had a sign that said you could only enter 2 hours prior to your departure, and for one of the few times I can remember, were actually strict about that. They would not even put you on the waitlist until 2 hours before your flight. We originally went to the Plaza Premium lounge about 3 hours before our connecting flight took out. They told us to come back later, so we wandered over to The Club DFW. An hour or so later, we came back, got put on the waitlist and then it was another 10 or 15 minutes before it was our turn.

The Dallas Terminal D Plaza Premium Lounge is open daily between 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m.
Dallas Terminal D Plaza Premium First Lounge
One interesting thing to note about the DFW Plaza Premium lounge in Terminal 3 is that it is also a contracted lounge for several airline partners, with the “Plaza Premium First” location. Plaza Premium First is also accessible to Priority Pass for an additional $45 copay (no thanks). We just stuck with the regular Plaza Premium lounge, which is accessible via Priority Pass.

Dallas Terminal D Plaza Premium airport lounge seating
While the Terminal D Plaza Premium lounge is much bigger than the Plaza Premium lounge in Terminal E, it’s not huge. In fact, when I was walking through the space, I felt a bit of deja vu and realized that it is on the same site as the original American Express Centurion lounge, which I visited nearly a decade ago (it’s since moved down the hall to a much bigger space).

Dallas Terminal D Plaza Premium Lounge Review: food
The food at the Dallas Terminal D Priority Pass / Plaza Premium Lounge is pretty basic.

They had a few hot dishes which were pretty good.

As well as some desserts and cold food.

There is a small bar, though from what I’ve seen, only basic alcohol is complimentary – cocktails are an additional charge. (I don’t drink so I don’t have details on that)

There are also coffee and soft drinks available.

The soft drink dispenser actually said “Tea dispenser”, so I was confused – but after you click the touch screen it does show a selection of soft drinks.

DFW / Dallas Terminal D Plaza Premium Lounge wifi
The Dallas Terminal D Plaza Premium airport lounge wifi speed was quite fast.

As you can imagine, I had no idea doing anything online during my time in the lounge.
Dallas Terminal D Plaza Premium Lounge airport lounge amenities
There were not really any amenities in the lounge other than restrooms

The Bottom Line – DFW / Dallas Terminal D Plaza Premium Lounge Priority Pass Lounge Review
If you have access to the Plaza Premium Terminal D Lounge at Dallas Fort-Worth (DFW) airport, it’s worth a stop. The food is okay and definitely better than The Club DFW. However, it’s not as good as some of the other lounges like the Capital One DFW or American Express Centurion DFW lounges. The Wifi is solid and it’s definitely a place worth visiting if you have a layover between flights.
