I have attended the same convention in Southern California a few times, most recently in June 2026. While I normally stay at the Hyatt Place Pasadena for the convention, in this case, we were planning 2 extra days in LA, so we booked an airport hotel. I booked a stay at  the Hyatt House / Hyatt Place LAX Century Boulevard. The hotel building has both a Hyatt House and a Hyatt Place in the same building, but there is just one entrance, one lobby, and everything is pretty much the same between the Hyatt House and the Hyatt Place, except for some of the room configurations. This Hyatt House / Hyatt Place LAX Century Boulevard review will give an idea of the different amenities and features of the hotel and hopefully help you decide if you want to stay here if you’re looking for an LAX airport hotel.

Hyatt House / Hyatt Place LAX Century Boulevard location

The Hyatt House / Hyatt Place LAX Century Boulevard is located at 5959 W. Century Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90045, quite near LAX airport. It is walkable from LAX, though there is also an airport shuttle (see more info on that below). It is about a 15 minute walk from the Aviation / Century stop on either the Metro C or Metro K lines. We took the Metro K line here on our way to the hotel, and the walk was reasonable.

Hyatt House / Hyatt Place LAX Century Boulevard cost

The cash rates were fairly steep compared to what I normally expect from a Hyatt Place. This is probably related to both it being in California as well as there being a large convention at the convention center next door. The cash rate for some of the nights we were looking to stay were nearly $400 / night (before taxes). The Hyatt House LAX / Century Boulevard is a Category 3 hotel. After the 2026 Hyatt devaluation, that means that the “normal” price is 15,000 points per night, though in browsing I saw plenty of nights at the “low” price of 12,000 points a night. The high cash prices make this an ideal situation to use points.

When we checked in, the guy at the front desk said there would be a $100 charge in addition to a $100 incidentals hold (i.e. he was going to auth my card for $200). When I questioned what the $100 charge was for, he said “oh, you’re staying on points?” and removed it. I’m not quite sure what that was all about as the hotel does not seem to have any sort of resort or destination fee, but maybe watch out for that if you’re staying on points.

Hyatt House / Hyatt Place LAX Century Boulevard review – room

We were given a room on the 13th floor, and the Hyatt House / Hyatt Place LAX Century Boulevard has elevators without up/down buttons – instead, you just enter your floor in when you want to call an elevator.

I was staying with three of my sons, so we booked a 2 queen room, which also comes with a pullout sofa bed.

Here is the other side of the room, with a desk and the aforementioned sofabed.

Like most Hyatt Houses, the Hyatt House / Hyatt Place LAX Century Boulevard had a stovetop, dishwasher, fridge and microwave.

The bathroom was small but functional

With a tub / shower

Hyatt House / Hyatt Place LAX Century Boulevard wifi and amenities

Here is the sheet that they gave me at check-in, with a breakdown of the different amenities of the hotel.

Wifi is complimentary in the lobby and in the guest rooms for Hyatt members. The Hyatt House / Hyatt Place LAX Century Boulevard wifi speed was decent and I had no issues using it, though I forgot to take a picture of the speed.

There is an outdoor pool as well on the Penthouse floor. It is heated and open year-round, as you might expect in Southern California

One interesting thing about the Penthouse floor at the Hyatt House / Hyatt Place LAX Century Boulevard was this open lounge area. In reading some past reviews, this was another restaurant / bar at some point, but when I was there in June 2026, it was just open for anyone to use. My boys and I spent an hour or so up here working on some schoolwork. There is also an outdoor seating area (which you can kind of see here through the windows) that had nice views of the LAX approach runways. I spent a bit more time out there just doing some work and watching planes arrive.

There is a fitness center on the lower level with a decent amount of equipment.

And shared computers in the lobby (no separate business center)

There are laundry facilities available that you can pay with a credit card / app.

Hyatt House / Hyatt Place LAX Century Boulevard airport shuttle

The Hyatt House / Hyatt Place LAX Century Boulevard has an airport shuttle. It leaves the hotel every 30 minutes at the top and bottom of the hour. There are no reservations – instead it is just first come / first serve. To get the shuttle, you walk out the back of the hotel and to the right.

I had read in previous reviews that the Hyatt House / Hyatt Place LAX Century Boulevard used a shared shuttle, but at least in 2026, there was a shuttle with hotel branding.

I imagine the shuttle picks up from the airport around 15 and 45 after the hour, but if you miss that timing, you can walk to the hotel – it’s about a 20-30 minute walk depending on what terminal you are at.

Hyatt House / Hyatt Place LAX Century Boulevard hotel review – parking

Due to it being located near the airport, the Hyatt House / Hyatt Place LAX Century Boulevard does not have complimentary parking. Instead, self-parking is $48 / night plus tax in an attached parking garage, with in and out privileges. We did not have a car during our stay (and arrived via Uber and Metro), so we did not pay the parking fees.

Hyatt House / Hyatt Place LAX Century Boulevard food

The Hyatt House / Hyatt Place LAX Century Boulevard has a number of options for food, similar to many other Hyatt Place hotels. I enjoyed this sign here at the complimentary breakfast bar. Originally I thought that they changed the menu sign every day, based on what was available. But I then realized that this sign never changes, even though the available hot foods change every day.

There were a variety of hot and cold dishes at the complimentary breakfast.

Coffee was available in the lobby.

There was an indoor seating area, which was quite full on the first day we were here

There’s also an outdoor seating area, which is where we sat the first day.

There is a Beacon bar and restaurant, that is available.

Here is the menu that was posted for The Beacon.

There is also a small market near the front desk where you can buy various snacks, toiletries, supplies and some touristy clothing.

Annoyingly they do not have listed prices – instead, you have to use the kiosk to look up any particular item. To give you an idea of the prices, you can see that 20 oz soft drinks are $4.50 – I declined….

The Bottom Line – Hyatt House / Hyatt Place LAX Century Boulevard review

If you are looking for a cheap LAX airport hotel, I thought that the Hyatt House / Hyatt Place LAX Century Boulevard had several things going for it. It was very easy to get to from the Interstate (or airport, or Downtown), and the price was decent, especially on points. I think the Hyatt House / Hyatt Place LAX Century Boulevard could be a great option if you’re looking for an LAX  / Los Angeles airport hotel.
