Singapore Airlines is devaluing its award chart AGAIN.  Shortly after the previous devaluation of award redemptions on Singapore metal, the airline is now increasing rates on their Star Alliance chart too.

Star Alliance Awards Increasing in Price

Check out the current award chart here, and the new (and unimproved) award chart here.  I’ve included screenshots of the changes below.  Since most of our readership is based in the US, let’s take a look at the rates for flight departing North America.

The new Star Alliance partner chart.

As you can see, the economy level (in blue) didn’t increase when departing the North America region at all.  The big swings came at the business class (pale) and the first class (gold) levels.  Singapore made similar changes back in January, increasing their First class and Suites class prices, while economy and business remained largely unchanged.

These changes will be going into affect April 16th, 2019, which means you have exactly 3 weeks to book Star Alliance awards at current levels.  Here’s the good news:  Singapore is currently a transfer partner of Membership Rewards, Ultimate Rewards, and ThankYou Points, so you have plenty of options.  If you’re waiting to book that Singapore award, don’t wait much longer!
