Thoughts

No matter what way you slice it, discounted gift cards are always a good deal. There’s not redeeming for cents per point here, so you know the kind of value you’ll be getting without any of the hassle of figuring out which rewards program to use.

These purchases should code as travel, so you’ll want to use a card like the Chase Sapphire Reserve to purchase, which gives you 3x points per dollar.
