IHG is back with a brand new hotel promotion for summer 2016 called IHG Accelerate.  Now you might be saying “Wait a minute, there already WAS an IHG Accelerate promotion” and of course… you’d be right 🙂  I don’t know why IHG insists on reusing the names for their promotions but whatever, just go with it!  Maybe they ran out of good names?
Accessing the IHG Accelerate Summer 2016 promotion
You can access the IHG Accelerate Summer 2016 promotion at IHG’s website. Â After you sign in, and accept the terms, you may see something like this

Both Carolyn and I were not eligible for this promotion for some reason.  If you want to see an example of the types of offers that are around, you can check out this post over at Muslim Travel Girl.  Just like all of the most recent IHG promotions, you are given a series of “personalized” tasks to complete.  For this version of Accelerate, you must stay between June 1 and August 31.  There was talk that people who were eligible for the Share Forever promotion, which goes from May 1 to September 5, are not eligible for this IHG Accelerate.  I don’t know why IHG is doing 2 different overlapping promotions, but it’s probably worth at least checking out the IHG Accelerate page to see if you’re eligible.

I was also not eligible.
I called in to reservations to book a hotel this weekend at Crowne IHG property. After reservations they transferred me to “Club vacations promo” where they offered me 3nights 4 days stay at one of their Holiday Inn Club resorts for $249 at any of their locations in the next one year. I would only be paying taxes at the check in. I do get $100 cash back, $100 certificate which can be applied at one of my next stay, and 20000 bonus points. Only requirement is to attend their 2 hours VIP tour, which i think is their sales pitch for becoming one of the owners.
Has anyone tried this before or know if this is a good deal? Sounds too good to be true.
I’ve heard that this is for non-USA members only. Not sure if that’s true but my wife and I here in the USA aren’t eligible either.
IHG cannot administer one promotion properly let along two. The last accelerate promo had “Track Your Progress” to see how your stays fulfilled your tasks. It took weeks to post a stay. So much for “tracking”.
LOL – I know. IHG’s IT has…. not given me warm fuzzies about their competence 🙂
No eligible? Really? I didn’t expect this. I would imagine it would be accessible worldwide.
Sorry to be cheeky here Dan but it feels good lol. Last time there were some crazy promotions only applicable to the USA and we missed thousands of points. Shame my offer is not worth running for though.
