Recently I was transiting through Phoenix and had the opportunity to visit the American Airlines Admirals Club PHX A19. In this Phoenix / PHX American Airlines Admirals Club Lounge Review, I’ll run through the food, wifi speed, seating and other lounge amenities so you can decide if this is worth a visit on your next trip to Phoenix.
American Airlines Admirals Club PHX access requirements
To access any American Airlines Admirals Club, you must meet one of three requirements:
- Be an Admirals Club member
- Traveling in First or Business on a qualifying same-day international, transcontinental or other domestic flight marketed and operated by American, a oneworld® airline or marketed by Aer Lingus* and operated by American
- Have American Airlines Platinum or higher status, or Alaska Gold or higher status, and be on a qualifying departing or arriving international flights marketed and operated by American, a oneworld® airline, or marketed by Aer Lingus and operated by American (regardless of cabin).
- Oneworld Emerald or Sapphire status through an international carrier
In my case, I was using a one-time pass earned with the Citi Strata Elite card (you get 4 per calendar year).

And even though initially I thought that my one-time passes would not be accepted due to the sign above, it turned out not to be a problem at all.

American Airlines Admirals Club Phoenix Location
The American Airlines Admirals Club PHX A19 location is in Concourse A, between gates A19 and A21. There are actually several Admiral’s Club locations in Phoenix Sky Harbor airport, including another one in Concourse A (above gates A7-A9). I was told that the A7 location is much bigger / better, so if you have the option, I’d check that one out instead of this one.

The American Airlines Admirals Club Phoenix is open daily between 3:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
American Airlines Phoenix Admirals Club airport lounge seating
There are a few seating areas at the American Airlines Admirals Club Phoenix between Gates A19 and A21. It’s a fairly small club, but I didn’t have any trouble finding a seat.

American Airlines Admirals Club PHX Review: food
The food at the American Airlines Admirals Club Phoenix is similar to that at any other Admirals Club. They have a variety of small finger foods, soups and desserts, but nothing super substantial. They do have additional food available for purchase if you want.

There was a coffee machine, but soft drinks were only available at the bar

American Airlines Admirals Club Phoenix wifi
The American Airlines Admirals Club Phoenix airport lounge wifi speed was decent.

I didn’t have any trouble accessing the Internet or watching videos or doing anything else online during my time in the Admirals Club.
American Airlines Admirals Club Phoenix airport lounge amenities
There were not very many amenities inside the American Airlines Admirals Club Phoenix A19. As I mentioned, this Admiral’s Club is quite small, so if you are looking for more amenities, I would recommend one of the other locations in PHX.
The Bottom Line – American Airlines Admirals Club Phoenix Lounge Review
If you have access to the American Airlines Phoenix Admirals Club Lounge A19, you will almost certainly want to spend some time here. The food is okay though not as good as some of the other lounges like Polaris, Capital One or Centurion lounges. The Wifi is solid and it’s definitely a place worth visiting if you have a layover between flights, though if you have more time, I would suggest one of the other Admiral’s Clubs, since they are all connected airside.
