Last month the news broke about Alaska Airlines buying Virgin America for $2.6 BILLION.  Since then, there seems to be a lot of Virgin America points in the news

The skeptical side of me might say that Virgin America is flooding the market with points in the hopes of being able to sell the idea of transfering 1:1 from Virgin America to Alaska (instead of 1:1.5 or 1:2 as some of us might hope)

Before, I was not all that interested in Virgin America because they have no flights near me and charge pretty hefty fuel surcharges on their partner awards.  But now that Alaska is buying Virgin America for $2.6 BILLION, I have a hope that my Virgin America Elevate points will at some point be converted to (much more useful) Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan miles.  So while I don’t know that I would transfer other miles to Virgin America speculatively yet, I’m more interested in getting any free Elevate points that are out there

Last month, I wrote about how you could get 250 Virgin America Elevate points just for entering a sweepstakes.  If you missed it then, this is your friendly reminder that the deal ends Friday, May 27th at 8:59pm Eastern time.

Virgin America is offering a “Hawaiiscape” promotion

You get 250 points for just signing up.  You can also share it on Twitter, Facebook or LinkedIn (seriously?) for additional entries, but if you don’t feel like doing that, you can just say “No, thanks I’m done”, and walkaway with your 250 points.

Every little bit helps!
