Flying during the holidays can be a stressful time. In addition to the stress of trying to get your family somewhere on a deadline, you have the added complication of EVERYONE ELSE TRYING TO DO THE EXACT SAME THING! And on top of that, for those of us who live in snow-country, weather can also wreak havoc on even the best planned itineraries.
To help combat holiday travel delays, Sheraton hotels is introducing the Delight My Delay promotion. There are 3 different parts of the promotion
1. At JFK and Dubai International Airports
There will be an airport kiosk (example pictured below) at JFK Terminal 7 between December 21st and 24th.
Delayed travelers can scan their boarding passes, and passengers will win a prize entry for every minute they’re delayed – the more you’re delayed, the more chances you have to win prizes ranging from Sheraton resort getaways to gadgets and travel gear. Also each winner will receive twice the prize to give to a friend, family member or fellow traveler
At Dubai, there will be a Sheraton vending machine throughout January – customers that are transferring or have long delays can use their boarding pass to redeem a travel care package for themselves and again, one to share with a fellow passenger
At the Sheraton Grand Macao hotel, Cotai Central
The Sheraton Grand Macao hotel is the world’s largest Sheraton, and throughout the busy holiday season, they will give out special prizes and gifts to make their stay and travels more effortless.
Playing on Social Media
So unless you’re flying through JFK or Dubai, or in Macao, the Delight my Delay sweepstakes isn’t really useful, right? Well actually there is a way to play along anywhere on Twitter. If you’re caught up in any kind of holiday delay (crowded mall, airport delays, waiting in line for a taxi, or anything else), you can follow @sheratonhotels and tweet out your delay with the hashtags #delightdelaysweeps and #promo.

Over 250 winners will be chosen every day between now and December 31st. Personally, my every day commute takes me right by Cincinnati’s largest shopping mall, so I know I won’t have any problems coming up with delays this time of year!
