Most airline fare sales are mostly marketing. The prices offered aren’t anything out of the ordinary; you can often find the same prices before or after the sale is over, and sometimes the fare sale doesn’t provide much of a discount or incentive to book.

But this recently announced fare sale from Southwest is somewhat different and is definitely worth checking out.

Southwest Fare Sale – Flights as Low as $39

Southwest has just announced a new fare sale, with flights as low as $39

Here are the terms and conditions of this Southwest fare sale:

  • *Restrictions, exclusions, and blackout dates apply.
  • 21-day advance purchase required.
  • Seats and days limited.
  • Select markets.
  • Book 4/2-4/11.

Sometimes with a Southwest fare sale, they list certain routes that are either included or excluded. For this fare sale, it’s just a matter of checking routes to see what is available. Remember to also check any existing flights that you have to see if the price has gone down – you can always change or cancel and rebook.

Getting More Southwest Rapid Rewards Points

These might not help you for this particular sale (since you won’t get the points in time), but they might be able to help you get a good stash of points to more easily take advantage of the NEXT Southwest fare sale

Southwest Change and Cancellation Policy

Remember that Southwest has one of the best change and cancellation policies of any airline. There are no change or cancellation fees, so you can cancel at any time. The other side of that is that if you have any existing flights during the fare sale period, you can change with no fees. Given the 50% off fare sale, any flight you may have previously booked is likely to be at a lower cost right now.

(SEE ALSO: Southwest just PAID me to take the same flight!)

So you can change your flight and possibly save some money if your fares are lower now.
