If you thought that the only interesting route news to come out of Iceland this week would be Icelandair’s new route to Ohio, you’d be wrong! This morning, WOW Air announced four new routes from Iceland to the United States, which brings their US route count to 12 cities!
As you can see, WOW Air is gunning for “flyover” country with these new routes. Here are the details we know right now:
- St. Louis, MO (STL): Starts May 17, 2018- 4 weekly flights (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday)
As of this morning, you can find one-way flights to Reykjavik from these four cities from $99, and connecting flights European destinations start at $149. Remember that WOW is an ultra-low cost carrier, so you’ll pay for everything but the seat: checked bags, seat assignment, food, etc. Remember to use a card that earns a ton of miles on airfare, like the Platinum Card from American Express or the Chase Sapphire Reserve.
This is great news for those (like Dan!) who live in the Midwest — will you be taking advantage of these new routes?
