Choice Hotels is currently running a promotion where they are giving 4000 points for signing up for a new account, and an additional 4000 points after you stay your first night. Choice Hotel free nights start at only 6000 points for Category 1 and 8000 points for Category 2 hotels.
Choice Hotels has brands such as Rodeway Inn, Econo Lodge, Cambria Suites, Clarion, Quality Inn, etc. While I did wonder back in March if it was ever a good idea to stay at a Rodeway Inn, my night there was not bad, and in fact, in my ranking of the 9 hotels we stayed at during our summer vacation, a Choice Hotel brand came in #1 (ahead of Hyatts, Holiday Inns, etc)
